Nudging is a fairly new term in the academic world. Furthermore, the concept of nudging is widely discussed, because it is a term that Richard Thaler and Cass Sunstein developed, in an attempt to fathom all the connecting theories leading to the term, nudging. Thaler and Sunstein's definition of the term is thereafter critiqued, and theorists like Pelle Guldborg Hansen, Daniel Hausman, and Brynn Welch. In this paper, we intend to challenge the term, by adding an element of consciousness to the experiments that represent the empirical foundation of this project. The overall tendency of the result showed that it affected the nudge. This is based on the possible and most likely reason that the test subjects of our experiment seemed to be too burdened in their reflective system to be able to comprehend a 'defense' against the nudge.
