This study investigates how the public park 'Nordvestparken' works in interaction with its users, and to what extent the use meets the stakeholders' intentions. Furthermore the study seeks to compare the park to Jan Gehl's criteria for a well functioning urban space. Through a focus group interview and a residence registration fieldwork, data was gathered and later used in the analysis. After the interpretation of the stakeholders' intentions, these were analyzed in relation to the empirical data. Furthermore the aesthetics of the park were analyzed using the theory of Lise Bek. It is shown that the actual use of the park does not live up the stakeholders' intentions. Especially the lack of activities, sports grounds, nature and attractive seats make the users walk through quickly.
