Nervous Laughter: Queer Postcolonial Narrative and the Anxieties of Belonging

Pye Krause

Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

Through a close reading of Shyam Selvadurai's novel Funny Boy we trace the intersections of sexuality and ethnicity as produced within the postcolonial apparatus. The protagonist's unique perspective as an ethnic and sexual minority reveals insight to heteronormativity and the ways in which it can be challenged.
