This paper takes its point of departure in Hans Fink, Arne Naess and Bruno Latour’ interpretation of an ongoing discussion regarding human beings understanding of nature and its associated consequences, such as climate crisis. We examine how human beings fundamentally positions themselves in relation to nature and consequent option conditions to form an understanding of nature as something we are a part of. To research this we will examine the following philosophers; Hans Fink, Arne Naess and Bruno Latour’ discussion concerning the problematic understanding of nature that is dominating the western countries. Furthermore, we will examine their alternatives to a dualistic concept of nature, which they argue dominates the current western understanding of nature.
