The main field of this dissertation is based upon how kindergarden teachers verbally construct their normative expectations regarding their kindergarden children, and how these expectations may be understood as a categorization of specific children. Therefore this dissertation mainly has its focus on issues concerning pedagogical and institutional practice as well as the social interaction between kindergarden teachers and the children of the institution.
