Streaming services has taken the Danish music industry by storm. Especially Spotify has been noticed and has become an established part of many Danish homes. This has opened up a number of issues for the other dimensions in the music industry, such as actors and institutions. The new technology is forcing these dimensions to adapt into a new system based on streaming. Legal institutions such as copyright and record contracts are put under pressure and streaming has made it easier to distribute music which results in more independent artists. These independent artists now have to worry about noncrea-tive tasks when they are not signed with a record company. All these changes in the music industry force the artists to adapt into new conditions, if they want to make it in the new industry. It is both challenging in connection to economic instability and creative compromises.
