Modmagt 2.0 - Internettet og kollektive bevægelser

Aske Severin Juul Christiansen

Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

In this project I aim to find out whether the balance between the civil society and the political system, has changed due to the increasing social and cultural impact of the internet. Through the theoretical perspective of Niklas Luhmanns system theory, I try to see these changes by focusing on how collective movements utilize the possibilities of the internet. As an empirical offset, I have focused on the movement Anonymous. The return from this focus, will be measured against other studies of collective movements adaptation of the internet, and by this, hopefully achieving a more holistic understanding of the new methods of action, spawned by the internet. On the basis of these results, it is asked whether these new methods empowers the collective movements, and through this, the civil society in their challenging of the established power structures in the global arena.
