Becasue of Georgia's geographic position, which could allow Europe and Turkey to access Central Asia, and for access to the Caspian Sea Basin, which contains a rich source of hydrocarbons available for trade, it is a country of great importance for both continets. This thesis analyses the relations between Georgia and Turkey from the fall of the Soviet Union until 2011. Thus, encompassing twenty years of relations analyzed in diffrent aspects to give a broad view of their relations in terms of: energy, demographics, break-away regions, and in relations to the European Union.
