In this project we will be looking at the millions of people working in the textile industry in Bangladesh. We will define their living conditions and wages, keeping in mind the amount of cheap clothing cycling the world. Who is responsible? The consumers or the major clothing companies? Can we affect the consumers and make them more conscious about their clothing purchases? Such questions will be answered through guidelines as CSR & Code of Conduct, social theories and by researching in the value chain while focusing on the production factories in Bangladesh and last the consumers. While using both qualitative and quantitative interview methods, a better understanding for the situation has been achieved. We will be using H&M as a case and do an analyzation of H&M sustainability report and an SWOT analysis of H&M. Throughout our research and analysis, we can conclude the consumers poor knowledge and by greenwashing the clothing companies almost takes an non-exciting responsibility. Whilst some companies try to do a difference, they feel a lot of resistance from the industry. As a solution we suggest an awaking campaign, trying to touch the etic and moral in the consumers.
