Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstract The field of study in this paper concerns why short temporary use of a given space can have an effect on the later use of that exact space and its surroundings. The answer to this study is achieved through studying three cases which are Strøm Festival, Frost Festival and SMK Fridays and analysing what they do in terms of planning a temporary activity and what the effects after the activity has taken place, can have on the planning of the city. To analyse these three cases the study uses Henri Lefebvre on The Spatial Triad and Jean Hillier on A Multiplanar Theory of Spatial Planning. This study concludes that temporary use of a given space has an effect on the city planning and the areas around the used space. Through the temporary use, this activity has, on a short term basis, changed the Spatial practice and the Representations of space, and on a long term basis the Representational spaces.
