This thesis explores how elements from the children’s MGP can be implemented in an event for Generation Z as well as how MGP works as a common frame of reference in such event. First and foremost, a presentation of the chosen theories will be presented, after which the design process will be explained. The analysis will examine our event as a cultural performance, evaluate whether the location and setting contributed to the purpose of the event, and furthermore include perspectives of different levels of design as well as a examination of various kind of sensory stimulations included in our event.
Firstly, we found that our concept is only one of many solutions to implement elements from MGP in an oriented event. Secondly, we found that MGP works well as a frame of reference because Generation Z has known MGP all of their childhood, and many people have a personal attitude towards the show by which they can recall childhood memories.
Lastly, we conclude that it is not always an advantage to slavishly follow a method, but instead every process should be proceeded in a way which is most beneficial to one’s own design process.
