In this project we have an interest in understanding #MeToo as a phenomenon, the positions in the debate, and how the positions are constituting #MeToo as an organization. The empirical foundation is based on 113 articles selected from six daily newspapers, which we have collected and quantified in order to attain an overview of the different attitudes towards #MeToo which are critical, positive, neutral or mixed. We have thus further limited the amount of articles to 18, with each of the above mentioned attitudes represented, on which we have performed a critical discourse analysis based on Norman Fairclough’s theory and a framing analysis based on Robert Entman’s theory. From these analysis’ we have detected a number of discourses which we have categorized under three themes. Lastly, we discuss the debate’s role in the constitution of #MeToo as an organization through theory of CCO. We have identified two discursive positions that struggle in defining #MeToo. This effects the constitution of the organization in a problematic way due to the lack of consistency in the four flows of communication.
