This thesis investigates how the media is positioned in society and how it constructs identical perceptions of a given subject. The media seems to give an authentic reflec-tion of reality, and therefore hide its position to the subject. This position can be dis-covered by looking at which discoursive themes that is hidden, in the medias repre-sentation of a given subject. In this regard the study has its point to investigate two historical rebates (1948 and 1993), that seeks to observe the ensembles and differences in how Berlingske media chooses to present the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The investigation will apply theories that operates with how the media is perceived as a position of power and also how they possess the power to influence their readers to a certain way of perceiving. Through an analysis of the particularity of the language, the study will seek to investigate if there can be found coherences between the texts particularities and its holistic meaning. This further understanding will lead to the salience of the readers reduced autonomy, and if the readers is directed to a certain perception, which the media holds.
