In our project we evaluate the marketization of the Danish health system to explore what it does for social inequality in health, due to private health insurance not covering everyone but only the group of approximately one million Danes who have either enrolled themselves or it has been provided for them through their jobs. We are also studying how the process affects the efficiency and quality of health systems for the entire population, assuming that the development is mainly favouring the more privileged part of the population. Finally we try to assess whether the increased marketization affects our welfare model and view, since it includes equal access for all concerning health.
