The following paper investigates the subject of the reforms of the elementary school, that the former government undertook in 2013 and how this has affected the teachers on a subjective level. Furthermore, it investigates the political climate of the time and how these might have played in, in the creation of the actions of the government. In this context I will investigate the intrusion of different companies and organizations in the public sector of Denmark. This with especial focus on the organization OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development).
To investigate this field of work, I have chosen the theorists Jürgen Habermas and Hartmut Rosa to analyze the political structures and trends, and to clarify possible agendas behind these.
Furthermore, to bring focus upon the subjective narrative and experiences of the teachers and the pupils, I have brought in Ernst Schraubes theory of ‘intro subjectivity’ to investigate the narratives that is created between us as individuals. To analyze the link between governmental structures and its influence on individual self-image, I have chosen to apply Aleksej Leontjevs theory of human activity.
The analysis is split up in two overall categories, an analysis of the subjects on a macro-level (societal) and one on the subjects on a micro-level (teacher and pupil relation). Both categories are built upon my interviewees’ statements.
This followed by a discussion of relevant subjects addressed in the analysis and a conclusion. At the end, there will be a reflection on how I could have built upon this work.
