This project seeks to analyze the crisis management strategy of the medical firm Lundbeck, with Timothy W. Coombs’ crisis management theory. In 2003 Lundbeck was accused of illegal industrial espionage, when they allegedly attained a confidential document belonging to their rival company producing a counterfeit product. Facing the patent expiry on their main source of income and accused with such serious charges as industrial espionage, Lundbeck found them selves in the midst of a crisis that would proof to have extent inpact on their organization. Therefore this project will also analyze if the aspect of whether Lundbeck was guilty or not had an inpact on their approach to the crisis management.
