Abstrakt
This paper examines how immigrants in Denmark experience their second language acquisition process in relation to their own life story. The paper includes interviews with three different women, all of whom are studying danish in a language center. The interviews are intended to understand how the women understand their own life story and how it relates to their own subjective language learning process. Through an analysis and a discussion of Bonny Nortons terms, we try to outline whether the language center accommodates the students’ investment to learn danish, and whether the learning approach should be reassed so that it takes into consideration the unique and personal process in learning a second language.
