The purpose of this research is to investigate how citizens of a municipality is included in a process of an urban restructuring. We have looked closer on how Frederiksberg Municipality uses public involvement as tool to make urban restructuring that seeks to improve the everyday life of the citizens in Frederiksberg. The goal in this project was to examine the use of unused urban spaces as a setting for an other type of involvement aiming towards citizens who rarely participates in public involvement. The approach was to organize the involvement at the exact place we seek to gather opinions and informations about, for the sake of using that information in part of an urban restructuring and furthermore making the uncommitted citizens more involved in their local community. Our investigation has shown that our method of public involvement has the potential to collaborate with Frederiksberg Municipality’s existing plans and work as a supplement to that. Being a method of involvement which sets in unused urban spaces and aims towards a certain segment, the method is useable in other scenarios where those two aspects will appear.
