Abstrakt

This project rapport is a case study and will strive to answer what challenges Distortion is facing, when it comes to the management of volunteers. This is investigated through the research strategy: grounded theory and interviews, which we have conducted ourselves. The collected data, is supported by Organizations Theory and theory about Management of Volunteers. The qualitative data along with the theory, is actively used in an analysis of different problem areas regarding the management of volunteers; structure, community, communication and motivation. This analysis is followed by a discussion regarding the different problems areas, and how they affect each other. In conclusion it is evident, that Distortion is facing a wide array of challenges, regarding their structure, communication and community, which all affect the motivation of the volunteers. It’s an additional challenge for Distortion, that the solution to one issue, might make another even worse. Distortion therefore needs to find a balance between these aspects.
