Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This project’s aim is an exploration of the concept conspiracy theories. The goal is to examine if there’s a special tendency towards conspiracy belief in American culture, and how conspiracies are communicated. With an inclusion of critical theory, as developed by Horkheimer and Adorno, we aim to analyze if there’s a tendency towards authoritarian characteristics in key figures of the anti-vaccination movement. The project draws the conclusion that there’s a tendency towards conspiracies in American culture based on the founding principles of the nation. The project also concludes that conspiracists have a tendency to present faulty arguments veiled in ethos, though filled with inconsistencies. Finally the critical theory analysis proves that there is a tendency towards authoritarian personalities in leading conspiracists.
