The purpose of this report is to examine the very controversial danish competitiveness based on the account of danish politicians. The basic hypothesis is based on the conception that the danish competitiveness isn’t as weak as politicians make it, which the analyses confirms. Furthermore the analyses presents a more comprehensive concept of competitiveness than accounted by several politicians, economists and organisations. Whereas the government mainly centre around the price and cost competitiveness the structural competitiveness highly seems to be widely more essential for Danish economy. In return, the main problem for Danish economy clearly seems to be the lack of demand. The underlying explanation of the focal point on competitiveness seems to be the establishment of the competition state and its displacement of the welfare state in parallel to globalisation of the world economy.
