In modern society more and more companies use an additional element in order to promote and sell their product. This product can be an experience that through this additional element becomes a new and more attractive version of the experience. This project seeks to understand how an opening event of a climbing course in natural environments, which in this project is a forest, can receive this additional element through aesthetic means such as light and sound, and at the same time understand how collaborators of the climbing course affects the becoming of the event. The light and sound design for the event will be based upon theories about usage of ambient elements in order to create ambient light and ambient sound. Hereafter is the ambient elements to be examined in order to understand they affect and create the atmosphere in the forest. To design the light and sound, this project uses ethnographic observation in order to understand the forest and its content, and based on this, create the extra element for the opening of the climbing course. This design will, on the opening day, be evaluated through the phenomenological epistemology. Furthermore the project is to analyse the collaborators attached to the opening event in order to shed light on their influence and meaning regarding the final concept of the opening event.
