Abstrakt

This thesis revolves around Roskilde Municipality’s integration program called Roskildemodellen. The thesis examines how a folk school in Denmark called Kalø Højskole is contributing to the integration, which is the intention of Roskildemodellen. To collect data we used a qualitative method approach involving interviews and observations. We obtained the data during a stay at the school, which has constituted our case. Furthermore we interviewed the Administration Manager of Integration from Roskilde Municipality to illustrate the various aspects of Roskildemodellen. The data combined with theories and approaches of Jacob Torfing, Axel Honneth and Thomas H. Eriksen and Torunn A. Sørheim, has resulted in the analysis of the thesis. The conclusion is hereby, that the stay at the school is a good but improvable alternative to the traditional integration process. However there are some developmental areas in the cooperation between Roskilde Municipality and Kalø Højskole
