This project is a contribution to the ongoing research project on the Danish refugee policy from 1933-1945 headed by the department of Holocaust and genocide-studies. Where the aforementioned project focuses on the structural reasons behind the restrictive refugee-policy at the time, we seek explanations by analyzing and interpreting on the leverage of one individual politician’s perception of government and state. We have our eyes set on the responsible Danish Minister of Justice from 1935-1939 Karl Kristian Steincke who administrated the refugee policies and had the last say in regulations regarding to it. The project aims to answer how Steincke’s perception of Government and state is reflected in the Danish refugee policy.
