This assignment engages in the use of the Gobikes with tourists and people from outside Copenhagen visiting Copenhagen, rst time users and in general, rare users of the Copenhagen city bikes. The research draws upon both academic articles, eldwork and personal experiences with the cycle.
We drew up a hypothesis, that the charging stations were not visible enough, and that especially tourists and people from outside Copenhagen visiting Copenhagen, rst time users and in general rare users, are having a hard time nding the charging stations in which the city bikes are standing.
This assignment contains a selection of theories and methods that serve to support our hypothesis. Furthermore we have developed a mock-up of an application, inspired by our comparing-analysis we made with other capital cities, London and Paris. They both have successful citybikes, and both have an successful application connected to their respective citybikes.
Our application intends to support our hypothesis as well, to make the citybikes more visible and to optimise the user-friendliness.
Lastly it concludes that the Copenhagen city bike in general is doing well, but there are possibilities to make initiatives that will make the Gobikes more visible and get more people to use it on an everyday basis.
