IT-Sikkerhed i en Dansk Kommune

Morten Engell Thomsen

Studenteropgave: Fagmodulprojekt

Abstrakt

This project examines the current information security state of a danish municipality,
attempting to establish how this state is ensured to always be current, adhering to
current national legislation, is implemented in all levels of the organization and
reflect the actual conditions. By researching the impact of implementing an ISMS
based on ISO27001, any and all advantages emerges, and are held in parallel to
the current state of the municipality. From this, the most important problems,
protocols and processes and possible solutions, will be examined in detail.
The municipality was discovered to have almost no current information security,
but had started an implementation project to rectify this situation.
Working on this project, it was clear that the recommendation was to increase
the resources dedicated to the implementation project and implement the ISMS
according to ISO27001. The advantage is not only increased security but implemen-
tation is also cost-effective. The resources currently assigned seemed insignificant
for the problem at hand, both economically and expert knowledge.
Lastly, a model for a community knowledge base for IT Security (or knowledge
base in general) was proposed.
