Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

The project focus on the conflict between Israel and Palestine, but seeks to uncover an aspect of the conflict from the Israeli perspective. In this project we will explore which common traits that can be found in Jewish-Israeli individuals’ lifeworld - as it is expressed in interviews, as well as in the spatial environment in which they live. We will explore how these common traits affect the ways that individuals cope with reality, in order to explain how it contribute to sustain the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The project's methodology is based on Pierre Bourdieu’s Reflexive Sociology at which a reflective attitude to the whole investigation process has been demanded. The project has intended to let the empirical evidence determine the choice of theory. Therefore the final choice of theory is based on the derived results of empirical findings. We have chosen Zygmunt Bauman as a theorist and applies his theories of Community, Freedom and Deconstruction of Death and Deconstruction of Immortality. For the analysis, a narrative analysis approach is used.
