Abstract This paper deals with the internets influence on the relationship between young people and the culture-historical museums. Several show that the young people are absence on the Danish culture-historical museums. On the basis of a hypothesis where we assumed that the internets penetration in the society had weakened the young peoples interest in culture-historical museums, have been looking closer at respectively the Internets influence on the society as well as the young peoples relation to museums and search for new information. Using Vikingeskibsmuseet i Roskilde as our case, and during the project representative of the culture-historical museums, and a number of young people, have we through qualitative and quantitative interviews collected empirical data about the current conditions. It turned out that the young peoples absence were not due to the internets penetration, neither the digital development in general, but that the culture-historical museums neither could or wished to invest the resources it would take to attract the young people, who simply did not have, and never have had, the interest.
