Resume In this project, we identify and analyse the most important channels in the internal communication in the municipality, Silkeborg Kommune. This is done on behalf of a request from, and in collaboration with the municipality. We have conducted 20 qualitative interviews with employees from the 10 different sections of Silkeborg Kommune. Based on these interviews we have identified a series of issues that make the internal communication less efficient. Furthermore, we have chosen to include different theoretical perspectives on organizations, and organisational culture, that affects the experience of being an employee in Silkeborg Kommune. These perspectives serve to illustrate how there is an inherently interdependent relationship between communication and culture. Based on our analysis we propose a series of solutions that, if imposed properly, would greatly increase the effectivity of the internal communication, including a discussion of the potential benefits of replacing the current intranet in Silkeborg Kommune, with a new system, based on social software.
