Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Recently, Copenhagen Airport has implemented 544 commercial screens with face detection technology embedded. According to the company responsible for distribution of commercials in Copenhagen Airport, Airmagine, this new technology makes Copenhagen the leading airport in the world in digitalised marketing. This report investigates this phenomemon by analyzing and discussing how the face detection screens are perceived through different perspectives. The analysis includes interviews with six persons, who have different opinions on the subject. The report includes theories on diverse subjects; marketing, surveillence, actornetwork theory, and Marc Augé’s theory about nonplaces. The artefact can be considered a messy object. We have designed and constructed two films as part of the visual ethnography method. The artifact is messy and in the conclusion a new category is designed in order to desrcribe the phenomena. Furthermore we have designed and constructed two films with visual ethnography as the method. Link to metainvestigation of method: Link to Intelligent Airport documentary:
