Statistics show that the employment frequency is low among refugees compared to other social groups, especially on the first year of arrival to the country - Denmark. The purpose of this thesis has hence been to look into the integration of newly arrived refugees from a learning perspective, while highlighting the social and subjective processes, that have an impact on the job market. The approach used in this thesis is inspired by social constructivism, while the empirical methodology has been based on primary data using narrative interviewing. The main results of the research show that in order for the refugees to have a sustainable association with the Danish labour market, it is necessary for them to have a wide access to knowledge about the labour market and society. Moreover, do the legal requirements also have a big influence on the refugees’ access to the labour market. Furthermore, it would be interesting to expand this research in the future and look into the civil society, and how it contributes to the integration process of new arrived refugees from a learning perspective.
