Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Our motivation for this project is an interest in the person’s speech of identity within the institutional setting. In our study our basis rely on two interviews with the psychiatric client, which we’ve produced on an institution for individuals with mental disorders. In our analysis we use Erving Goffman and Michel Foucault to illustrate different subjects related to the identities of the clients. In this connection we’ve found out, that the clients position themselves differently in proportion to the practitioners. One of them positions herself using her mental disorder making her comparatively more client, while the other positions himself trying to be less client as a matter of the situational context.
