This study deals with the use of commercial videogames in the education of history. The study provides a broad understanding of immersion in videogames, historical dissemination and in the primary school subject of history. This comprehension tells us that the dissemination of history and the primary school subject is developing towards bigger use of IT and media. Videogames is a media as such and gives the player a unique kind of prospect to emphasize and immersive in a different world. The study proclaims that an interactive and three-dimensional space builds a foundation for the player to immersive himself. A interactive three-dimensional space (e.g. a videogame) can act as a positive factor towards and immersive experience. A high immersive level in the education of history is found to demand good conditions from the media and from the educational environment as well. This project rapport concludes that various factors will make the level of immersion vary, and therefore, the level of immersion is said to be individual.
