With this project we want to shed some light on selected aspects of lifelong learning. We will be focusing on adults following a skill-raising course. From interviews with three participants and the provider of the course we have gained knowledge about the selfunderstanding and the subjectively experienced possibilities of the participants. Furthermore we will be looking into the connection between the experienced and the teaching strategies used during the course. We will explain all of the above within the framework "critical psychology" and "the developed theory of learning". The participants we have interviewed experienced a broadening of their posibilities of action and a change in their selfunderstanding. From a critical psychological point of view, we see that what was learned during the course goes beyond the context of the course. This included a significant change in the level of participation in other contexts. According to the extended theory of learning one can argue that their change in selfunderstanding stems from a change in their basic qualifications. Furthermore, we see that there is a strong connection between the learning stategy the participants used during the course and what the participants experienced.
