This report examines the extent of the opportunities and challenges associated with the new school reform. There is a particular focus on students with special needs at school Y and how they feel recognized or stigmatized in a class community, and in other major communities of the school. The focus is to establish the new school reform’s criteria and requirements versus its implementation. The project seeks to explore the underlying mechanisms that may arise in connection with the new school reform and its implementation. The task has in this attempt to understand and explain how school Y has handled the new school reform. Through sociological concepts such as acknowledgement and symbolic violence, and political science concepts in the implementation phase. The project has attempted to analyze the dynamics and mechanisms that may be responsible for the actual picture. The project feel that the ambition of creating more inclusive learning environment can be problematic for students with special needs, and it may result in stigmatization and exclusion. School reform attempts especially to solve the problem of inclusion from the academic and social element, this is in order to create more inclusive learning environments and more inclusion competent teachers can be problematic. The project seeks to develop the above visions versus the real picture, which is from observational studies and interviews with the teacher and students from the special class at school Y. This is to reach the bottom of whether the new school reform actually promotes or challenges inclusion.
