Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This project constructs a theoretical viewpoint of critical urbanism, everyday performances, art and utopia. With the analytical tools of this theory the project seeks to understand how urban spaces of central Mumbai is constructed through performances of the urban poor, mediated in economical, discursive and political levels. As a punctuation of the urban performances the project establish an understanding of everyday moments of utopian impulses channeling identity and dreams to elitist consumerism. The aim of the project is to create new spatial possibilities and utopian notion based on social interaction and artistic intervention in a close dialogue with the local communities.
