Abstract This project examines the concept of personality and personality testing. To reach an understanding of how the concept of personality is understood in the large field of psychology, this project will reflect upon theories of personality as seen in: Analytical Psychology, Trait Theory, Positive Psychology, Critical Psychology and Narrative Theory. Furthermore these different views of personality will be used, to analyse and discuss how and why the global company Rockwool, uses the two personality tests: Reflector Big Five Personality and Neethling Brain Instruments, when hiring new employees and when putting together new workgroups internally in the company. To gather information on how Rockwool uses these personality tests, and what their intentions with the tests are, the group conducted two interviews. One with human resource partner Sys Haber and the other with marketing consultant Michelle Honoré. This project wishes to examine, if Rockwools intentions with the tests actually exerts in practice. Do the tests benefit the company, regarding the intention to boost their productivity? Or do they make the process of choosing a job candidate more arduous?
