Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Through moral philosophical theories of justice by J. Rawls and J. S. Mill as well as economical theories by K. Marx and A. Smith this project examines the following question: What is fair about Fairtrade? The Theories as well as the studies of justice and fairness give a perspective of how to understand a trade as being fair. The project did not only seek to understand fairness on an abstract level. Therefore it does also try to see the outcome of the reality of Fairtrade by the use of a coffee production study from Latin America. The project is made by the use of a qualitative and inductive method, which gave a final result that brought more questions forth for further study.
