Abstrakt

We have examined how you can create renewed interest for Bellahøj Friluftsscene using a local event. The event is made in cooperation with the institution Amfiteatret. The open-air stage is formed as an amphitheater. Therefore we have explained the origin of the Greek amphitheater, and how Bellahøj Friluftsscene is designed by C. Th. Sørensen. As a preliminary examination we have made a survey in Bellahøj and its environs about what the local population knows of the amphitheater. We have planned and conducted the event Gudehygge i Bellahøj which has the theme Norse mythology. We have analyzed the event with emphasis on the usage of the space through Michael Eigtved’s Forestillingsanalyse (2007). The event was documented by participant observation, photographs, video, a guest book and opinions from Lene Storgaard from Amfiteatret. This documentation forms the basis for the evaluation of the event. The event itself was a success but the number of participants did not live up to our expectations - probably because of bad advertising. Those who participated had a great day and a positive experience of the event.
