'God for everyone - everyone for himself?': an Angolan example of civil society beyond the blueprints

Mille Lübbert Hansen

Studenteropgave: Speciale

The thesis presents a discussion and critique of the concept of civil society and the way it is being applied in international aid discourse. Through a field study in the Angolan Tocoist Church the thesis exemplifies how local actors contribute to the creation of social change, thus suggesting a broader, more actor-oriented, and contextualised approach to civil society – theoretically and particularly in practise.
