Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This project report contains a discourse analysis about a shift from welfare state to competition state and tries, based on the government's proposal for increased growth 'Vækstplan DK', to identify both the hegemonic and non-hegemonic discourse, and if Denmark has moved towards a competitive state. The focus here is on the government's articulations about growth versus welfare since the proposal comes from a government that historically both have built and cherished the welfare state. We have a discourse analytical approach to the project and our conclusion is therefore neither universal nor infallible, but a conclusion based on the collected empirical data. The project report concludes that the Vækstplan DK, both in articulation and with the specific initiatives is a step towards a more competitive state. The project report is also aware that the Væstplan DK is a very little empirical part of a long historical process, which is why we in the project only, in the light of the project's limited time frame, concentrate on whether Vækstplan DK is a step towards a more competitive state.
