The aim of this assignment has been to explore the advantages and/or disadvantages of the vastly increasing development in prenatal genetic testing. These changes raise a series of ethical questions, which we explore in order to construct a valid thesis of futuristic scenarios and consequences. We have researched arguments for and against controversial and uncontroversial selection, the history of prenatal genetic testing, the biological aspect of how the screenings are performed, and the way the system currently handles ethic dilemmas in order to do so. Thus giving us a better understanding, which will enable us to determine the benefits and/or problems caused by this progress now, and in the future.
