Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

In this project stress is viewed from a biological, psychological, and sociological approach which together make a whole-being oriented bio-psycho-social perspective. The three approaches and their suggested solutions to stress are discussed and their adequacy is evaluated. Also Giddens’ theory the late modernity and its consequences for the individual are described and discussed with a special focus on devaluation of traditions, the diversity of choices, and the segmentation of everyday life in relation to stress. From this, reflexivity is suggested as an alternative solution to stress where the prevailing methods are found to be inadequate. Subsequently narrative therapy is looked at as a tool for working with stress in situations where structuring is not possible, and for increasing the individual’s everyday reflexivity in general.
