This project assignment focuses on the subject of strengthening the local identity in the municipality of Hørsholm, focusing on the case Rungsted Ishockey - a local hockey team and union. By means of four interviews with citizens, all of them parents to children between the age of 9-15. This paper examines how their understanding of their local environment and the municipality is, and furthermore their thoughts about our campaign poster is looked upon. To analyze the target groups relation to the local environment the assignment uses Henrik Dahl’s theory of Livsverden, relevans og kontakt, and for the analysis of the informants understanding of the poster, Kim Schrøder’s Multidimensionale Model is used. The two analysis are followed by an interpretation using Brenda Dervin’s The Sense-Making Approach. The assignment concludes that Rungsted Ishockey is capable of being a local identity creating union, but only on similar conditions as other local unions in the municipality. Also the differences between men and women in the target group are too big for only making one campaign poster.
