Abstrakt

This study clarifies RFID technology as an identification technology to be used in the retail sector. Moreover it examines the construction of a mobile application based on the arguments in the thesis “Undersøgelser af danskernes madspildsadfærd, forandringspotientialer og anbefalinger til tiltag” (Forbrugerrådet et al. 2012). In the analysis in the case of making a mobile application, dedicated on helping a young consumer increase awareness and minimizing food waste, we discuss whether or not a mobile application in coherence with RFID technology is a possible solution. Additionally we analyze Nudge in order to specify and discus whether it is able to influence the user. Furthermore we look on existing mobile applications related to food waste. Through interviews of our user groups, whom we selected with inspiration from the quantitative data in the thesis mentioned above, we have investigated an optimization of our mobile application MADs by the usage of presentations of our storyboard. In addition we investigate other types of identification technologies, to clarify the difference, and why RFID technology is interesting in the case of making a mobile application to help a user coordinating his refrigerator, increasing awareness and minimizing food waste.
