This rapport takes a closer look at the relation between philosophy and art. Specifically, we wish to dick deep into what Plato and Aristoteles thought of art and its role in the society. The report takes its ground in Plato and Aristoteles philosophy. The understanding of both of their philosophies is crucial to understand their different takes on art. Where at Plato, is moving about in the world of ideas, Aris-toteles keeps his feed on the ground and creates more practical theory regarding art, and what good art ought to be. It’s no secret that Plato and Aristoteles had very different meninges of art and its role in the society. Plato keep a critical opinion towards art, because, he thinks that art and tragedies in spet-iculer, is not imitating the real world as it truly is. The art doesn’t strike for the truth. Aristoteles have a practical way of looking at art, he thinks that art can help people to reinvasion and salvation through Catharsis, and furthermore he invents a theory about how a good story is composted. Plato and Aris-toteles are, as you can see, very different in the way they approach art. This rapport ought to have a closer look, at their differences.
