Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

This report researches the question: Why does the government have a larger focus on smoking in Denmark than the increasing problem that is obesity. To answer this question, this report makes use of the economic theory from Keynes and the neoclassic theory. To answer the political aspect of this problem, Robert A. Dahl’s theory about power is used to explain why the focus is on smoking rather than obesity. With the help of an interview and statistics, this report concludes, the reason why the focus is on smoking is that obesity is not a popular subject and if politicians tries to regulate it, they will most likely lose votes. The economical aspect of the problem leans toward, that it is not possible to please the population and still regulate the food marked.
