In this report we use the experimental method Programmatic Design Research (PDR) to develop an understanding about making experience design with a focus on hearing. We look at hearing as a subjective experience, and largely analyse and describe our findings through an embodied take on phenomenology. Throughout the report we use our own explorative process through PDR, to argue how it can be a useful tool, even in relatively short termed projects. Finally, we discuss how concepts such as lifeworld and prior understanding directly shape the perception of the individual, and how this knowledge can be used to design an interactive experience.
