Studenteropgave: Semesterprojekt

Abstrakt

In this project we will be researching the topic on why the citizens of the US Virgin Islands have claimed an official apology from Denmark and why it has not yet been given to them. We will be using four different Danish opinions – two different opinions from political parties and two opinions from researchers on the subject. Furthermore, we will be looking into other subjects of political apologies within the Danish history and make a comparison between those and our main subject. We will also be looking into the Danish commemorative history and the history writing of the slavery on the US Virgin Islands – but more specifically the three former Danish islands St. John, St. Croix and St. Thomas. Lastly we will be discussing the different opinions from our sources and the knowledge we have collected in order to conclude what kind of interests the actors in the debate have and why.
