Abstrakt

This thesis explores how Easy-to-Read can be incorporated into the Danish language in the use of health brochures. In this project we have argued that Danish health brochures possess a technically complex access to Danish language. By using theories and approaches such as NSM, Minimaldansk, Minimal English and Easy-to-Read, it is possible to paraphrase Danish health brochures into a language that all Danish speakers can understand at different levels. Using an Easy-to-Read approach can reduce misdiagnoses and misinformation, and instead create a better access to healthcare information for people with different language qualifications.
